Disabled Access and Special Needs
At both Sidcup and Brampton Road the College has a lift to enable access to the higher floors. If you have any special requirement we will do our utmost to assist. Please contact Glenda Jackson on 020 8269 8990.

relocation of classes to the ground floor

recorded materials for visually impaired learners

accommodation guided tour for learners requiring them.

induction loop system for hearing impaired learners

accommodation of learners’ personal assistant’s or carers where required

Learning Support
The College strives towards being an Inclusive Learning Organisation.

If you have a health problem, a disability or difficulty coping with the content or the pace of a class, please let your tutor or a member of the College staff know. We see it as our job to help you learn. We want to know if you experience any difficulties with the learning programme so that we can make adjustments and assist you as best we can.

Student Welfare Advice & Counselling
All Bexley’s Adult Education students are most welcome to contact their student welfare officer for confidential advice and support relating to any welfare issues that they may be experiencing, including:

advice and information on benefits

assistance with form filling and eligibility for benefits

financial issues

health concerns

housing matters

domestic violence/racism/bullying

signposting and information on local government/voluntary/community services/helpful organisations

Information is available in Braille, large print and other languages. Access is available to translators through Bexley’s Interpreting Services for students whose first language is not English.The Student Welfare Service will endeavour to assist any student experiencing any difficulties, working with the student to resolve their issues. All information will be treated in complete confidence under the Data Protection Act. The student welfare service fully supports Bexley’s equal opportunities policy.
