Examination/Qualification
All courses marked with this symbol C are accredited/examination courses.
Most examination courses are supported in the College by the LSC (Learning and Skills Council). The College expects that all students who enrol on a course leading to a qualification will take that qualification.
Examination/Accreditation Costs
Generally the cost of examination, registration (with the awarding body) and administration will be included in the course fees. However, there are some exceptions: please read the description of your course carefully this will tell you whether there are any additional costs to pay.
If you are entitled to a free place you will still have to pay examination and administration fees on enrolment.
All examination, accreditation and administration fees are non-refundable.
Registered job-seekers receiving benefits and those on income-related benefits will be asked to provide clear proof of status before starting the course. If you are in receipt of a reduced fee or receive a free place you will still be required to pay your own examination, accreditation, registration and administration fees. If you are unable to do so you may apply to the Learner Support Fund for support see below under Grant Aid.
Examination Entries
Students are responsible for the accuracy of their own examination and accreditation entries.
For examination queries only please telephone 020 8269 8941/8942.
First Session Guidance
The College’s funding depends on students receiving guidance for these courses before they start. With these courses, marked with a B the first class is a guidance session. You can enrol for these courses but your place will not be confirmed until you have attended this first session. This is to ensure that it is the right course for you. If, after discussion with the tutor at the first session, you decide that the course is not suitable, you will be able to obtain a full refund or transfer to a more suitable course (where places are available). After this first session the College’s normal transfer and refund policy will come into force.
Interview
Some courses require a pre-enrolment interview: please see individual course entries and course outlines for details.
Learning Agreements
You will be asked to complete and sign an Individual Learning Agreement stating that you have discussed course objectives with your tutor. This is in addition to an Individual Learning Plan.
