Royal Military Academy Sandhurst

The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst where both Prince William and Prince Harry trained was founded in 1947 from Royal Military Academy and the Royal Military College. RMA was founded in 1741 in Woolwich for Gentlemen Cadets. Our tour will include the Royal Military Chapel which has a rare example in the UK of Russian Mosaic work in the dome and an unusual altar cross in bronze of crusader’s cross, and a beautiful stained glass window. See Old College which is where since 1928 the Adjutant rides a horse up the steps after the end of The Sovereign’s Parade and New College which is the longest building in Britain and comprises of 3ml bricks. Snooker was started at RMAS by a cadet. The grounds have statues which include Queen Victoria and Prince Imperial. Not for the less mobile. Entrance cost £6. No food costs included.
